Sirena, Life casting, Leather and Steel, 20"x52"x25", 2007
The constant challenges remain. Combine fabric, painting and life castings. Make positive and negative space that flows independent of one another, as well as together.
Take opposites and place them side by side, study the friction created between the two and then take that energy and manipulate it into one movement.
At the core is texture. Texture from the fabric, paint, plaster and now steel.
The successful construction of these elements continues to be what drives me to make art.
